SaasRise Enterprise Mastermind Call Recap September 8, 2026
This is what we discussed today in the Enterprise SaaS CEO and Founder Mastermind
🏝️ Remote Team In-Person Retreats
Challenge: Managing a distributed team (domestic + international contractors) and determining how to bring everyone together effectively.
Best Advice:
- Focus on human connection over task completion — the most lasting impact comes from informal moments, not structured projects.
- Pick a location based on visa accessibility (e.g., Mexico works well for Latin American teams).
- As a leader, go to bed at a reasonable hour so the team can bond without you present.
🔒 SOC 2 Compliance
Challenge: The process is tedious, expensive, and complex — especially for small teams.
Best Advice:
- Simplify your policies as much as possible. Use the "frozen/unfrozen state" concept from NIST 853 — declare an unfrozen state for bulk changes, then revert, turning 45 individual audit incidents into one.
- You can also do audits every 18 months instead of annually, since no rule mandates yearly third-party audits.
🤖 Communicating AI Transformation to Teams
Challenge: Balancing urgency with overwhelm; motivating non-technical staff (sales, CS) who don't see immediate personal relevance.
Best Advice:
- Frame AI learning as personal career investment, not extra work for the company.
- Use show-and-tell cadences — assign team members to bring AI examples to bi-weekly meetings.
- Provide role-specific prompts and templates so people aren't starting from a blank canvas.
- Lead by example and make AI usage visible (e.g., a shared Slack channel).
✍️ Writing Content for Executive Audiences
Challenge: Experts tend to write at high sophistication levels that may not resonate with busy executives.
Best Advice:
- Write simply — explain concepts as if to a five-year-old, letting the insight carry the value, not the jargon.
- Partner with creators/influencers in your space who can reframe your content with hooks you wouldn't think of.
